Navigating Turbulence: A Gratitude Note and Call to Action

--

The movement for empathy presses onward in 2024

As we savor the holiday season, I want to extend my sincere thanks to all of you who’ve been steadfast supporters of Curiosity Lab and Actually Curious. Your presence and commitment are not just acknowledged; they are deeply appreciated.

As you read this, it signifies our collective survival through a challenging year, marked by global conflicts, economic uncertainty, and societal divisions. We’ve witnessed immense suffering, and while empathy connects us, it’s crucial to recognize that we can never fully comprehend the struggles faced by those directly affected.

In these challenging times, I’ve often turned inward, shutting out the external chaos as a means of survival. There have been days when questions about purpose echoed in my mind. Yet, here we stand — navigating turbulent waters together. It’s essential that we do the work to remain emotionally resilient and find ways to support one another in the face of adversity.

2024 is a call to action, urging me to channel my energies into meaningful service. At Curiosity Lab, we are expanding our reach to amplify the empathy movement, and it’s leaders like you who propel us forward.

I urge you to explore our new Events page, take the time to join us virtually or in person, and contribute to the growth of a community of individuals committed to fostering empathy. Last year taught me that the impact of a gathering goes beyond its size; it lies in the unique environment it fosters and the collaborators it brings together. It’s a powerful blend for the mind and the heart.

We, as a community, have the capacity to recruit and train one million empathy experts. We’ve curated events and tools to assist you in taking that next significant step. Let’s redirect the prevailing energy of division and despair towards hope and abundance. Together, we wield the power to enact positive change.

As we move forward, let our actions be guided by a commitment to justice and empathy. Challenges may persist, but so will our collective strength.

Thank you for being an integral part of this movement. Your commitment to empathy is a beacon of light in a sometimes dim world. Here’s to a new year filled with purpose, connection, and the unwavering belief that together, we can create ripples of change.

In solidarity,

Michael
